The only thing more eye-catching than the celebs' stunning gowns at Cannes are the celebs who decided to skip the event's dress code. With last year's 'flatgate' controversy - where a woman was turned away from the festival because she wasn't wearing heels - still fresh in everyone's minds, we take a look at Julia Roberts and other stars who made a statement by flouting the festival's red carpet rules.
Julia Roberts While the Pretty Woman actress entered the festival wearing black heels, she took them off some time later. It was only when Roberts lifted her gown to walk up some stairs that everyone noticed she had been walking barefoot. However, this is nothing new for America's sweetheart - she had turned up barefoot at her wedding to singer Lyle Lovett in 1993.
