Sonam Kapoor wants to be a part of meaningful cinema
Sonam's last movie, 'Neerja', where she essayed the role of the brave airhostess Neerja Bhanot, has made it on the list of a prominent financial magazine's must-watch movies. In an interview, she says that she wants to be a part of movies she is proud of. Having done a variety of roles in her previous projects - be it 'Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo', 'Khoobsurat', 'Raanjhanaa or 'Aisha' - she feels that such recognition helps in bringing about a change in the society and that everyone should play a part in contributing towards the same. While she doesn't care about commercial success of a movie, she also likes being a part of such projects. She is even glad that female-centric movies finally have an audience; though 'Mother India' and 'Arth' were one of the earliest ones, which inspired women and the women in these movies were heroes in their own right.
