Kristen Stewart’s new film booed at Cannes
Kristen Stewart's new supernatural drama 'Personal Shopper' has become the first film to receive boos instead of applause at this year's Cannes Film Festival, according to a report in IndianExpress.com. The 26-year-old award-winning star reunited with her 'Clouds of Sils Maria' director Olivier Assayas for 'Personal Shopper', in which she plays a fashion stylist attempting to speak to the ghost of her dead brother.
When the movie was screened at the film festival on Monday, some viewers were a little underwhelmed by the ghostly flick - and booed as the credits rolled. However, some film critics are taking the negativity with a pinch of salt, and they have jumped to the 'Twilight' star's defence. "Personal Shopper got the first boos I heard at #Cannes2016, which led me to only clap harder," wrote a critic. "I found it beguiling.
