Lisa Ray followed her instinct for Veerappan
Model-turned-actress Lisa Ray will be seen in a pivotal role in director Ram Gopal Varma's forthcoming release Veerappan. She plays Priya, a woman who helps the government nab the sandalwood smuggler. Though she was warned by many to refrain from taking up the role, she decided to go with her instinct. She says, "I was told by a few people to think twice before doing the film but fortunately, I never listen to others. I'm so grateful that I am a part of this film. RGV has been in the industry for so many years and he gets the best out of his actors. I've played strong characters in the West, but this is more realistic. Also, this is the first time I'll be seen in a simple avatar with minimal make-up to stay true to the character."
